PerMile shows fuel prices near you without asking you to sign up. Here is what happens to your information.

Your location

If you tap "Allow location", your browser shares your position with this page. We round it to about 100 metres and send it to our server only to find stations near you. We don't store it, log it or share it, and it is never put in a web address. It is forgotten when you close or reload the page.

Postcodes and towns

If you type a postcode or town, we look it up with postcodes.io, a free service run by Ideal Postcodes using open government data, to find where it is on the map. We don't store what you type.

Route planner

To plan a route, we send your start and end points, rounded to about 100 metres, to Google Maps, which works out the driving route. We don't store your journey, and it is never put in a web address.

Maps

Maps are loaded from OpenFreeMap. Like any website, it receives your IP address and the map area being shown, so it can send the right map images.

Weekly price alerts

If you sign up for price alerts, we keep your email address, the first half of your postcode (for example CW1), a point about 1 km across worked out from it, which fuel you chose, and when we last emailed you. We use them only to send you one email a week with the cheapest prices near you. We never sell or share them, and we don't track whether you open the emails.

We ask for your consent with a box you tick yourself, and then ask you to confirm from your inbox. If you don't confirm within 7 days, we delete your details. Every email has a link to stop them, which deletes your details straight away. You can also ask us to delete them at any time.

The emails are sent for us by Resend, which receives your email address and the email's content to deliver it.

Cookies

We don't use cookies or tracking at the moment. If that changes, we'll ask you first.

If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser so the next page matches. It never leaves your device and isn't sent to us.
